Information You Submit
A name, phone number, or address entered into a search form is sent to the outside provider that supplies those results. Our servers do not retain a copy of that query. If you contact us, we use the information in the message only to respond.
Routine Technical Data
Our host may record normal server-log details, including an IP address, browser type, viewed pages, and timestamps. We review aggregate information to maintain the service and understand general use. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics and advertising measurement where used.
What We Do With This Data
We use this limited information to operate the reference, resolve technical issues, measure traffic, and improve pages. We do not sell visitor lists or create individual visitor profiles.
External Services and Links
The reference links to Town, Rockland County, New York State, library, archive, and outside search resources. Their policies apply to information submitted on their services, including sponsored search results provided by an outside company.
Who Might See Your Data
The service providers that host and support the site process server logs for us. Analytics and advertising partners may receive the automatic data described above. We disclose data when a valid legal process requires it, and not otherwise.
How We Protect Your Data
The site runs over an encrypted connection and logs are kept only as long as the purposes above need them. There are no accounts here, so no password or profile of yours exists on this site to be exposed.
Users Under 18
The site is meant for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18; if you believe a minor has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your Choices and Data Requests
You may have rights to request access, correction, or deletion of personal data held by a private service. Because we retain very little, we can check the contact mailbox and available server logs and remove responsive information when appropriate. Use the Contact page for that request. New York Freedom of Information Law, Public Officers Law Article 6, governs access to existing government records, not deletion requests to this private reference. For a public record held by a Town, County, or State office, contact the named custodian.
Updates to This Policy
Policy changes will appear here. Continuing to use the reference after a revised version is posted means you accept that revision.
